Dr. Ahrens studied medicine at the Georg August University of Göttingen and the Free University of Berlin. He received general surgical training at the Accident Hospital Berlin and University Hospital Greifswald and underwent training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Sanssouci Clinic, Goerlitz Clinic, ad Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin (ukb). He became a Senior Physician at the Plastic Surgery Section of the University Hospital Lübeck in 2012.

He is currently part of the team of plastic and reconstructive surgeons at AesthetiCum in Berlin, of which he is also a co-manager. He has so far performed over 10,000 operations throughout more than a decade of his professional career.
