About Doctor Cengiz Acikel

Dr. Cengiz Acikel holds a specialization in Aesthetic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery. He obtained his medical degree from the GATA Medical Faculty in 1988. After his graduation, Dr. Acikel completed his residency training at GATA's Department of Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1997.

Upon the completion of his residency, Dr. Acikel joined the GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital. There, he fulfilled roles as a specialist physician and assistant professor. In 2005, he was appointed as an associate professor of Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Acikel extended his professional experience internationally by serving as a research fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, USA from 2002 to 2003. After this, he returned to his home country and retired from GATA in 2009. Subsequently, he joined the faculty of Acıbadem University's Medical School.

In 2012, Dr. Acikel received a permanent professorship at Acıbadem University. However, he chose to step down from his faculty position in 2014. Since then, Dr. Acikel has been practicing privately in Ataşehir, Istanbul, Turkey.

Over the years, Dr. Acikel has contributed significantly to the medical field. He has authored 77 scientific articles published in national and international journals. He has also delivered 91 oral and poster presentations at numerous national and international conferences. In addition, he has contributed two book excerpts to the medical literature and has a patented design, demonstrating his innovative inclination in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
