Dr. Altuğ Çetinkaya brings a well-rounded expertise in ophthalmology, particularly in the subspecialty of oculoplastic surgery. His academic foundation was laid at Hacettepe University where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree, graduating in 1998. He pursued further specialization at Başkent University's Faculty of Medicine, sharpening his focus on ophthalmology from 2000 to 2004, which led to his qualification as an Ophthalmologist.

His quest for excellence in the field took him to the University of Cincinnati, where he honed his skills in oculoplastic, orbital, and reconstructive surgery from 2006 to 2008. Following this, Dr. Çetinkaya expanded his expertise to include neuro-ophthalmology, studying under esteemed professionals in the field. His commitment to academic growth was evidenced by his establishment of the Oculoplastic Surgery Unit at Başkent University, where he also served as an Associate Professor in Ophthalmology from 2009 to 2012.

Dr. Çetinkaya's credentials are further solidified by his successful completion of the USMLE examinations, the acquisition of an ECFMG certificate, and a professional license to practice in Ohio, gained after passing the USMLE Step 3. His academic accolades include a professorship in ophthalmology awarded in 2021, and an associate professorship obtained in 2011.
