Dr. Akin Banaz began his formal medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 1990. Following this, he pursued his specialization in "Eye Diseases" at Istanbul Okmeydanı Hospital, completing it in 1993. 

In the pursuit of expanding his knowledge, Dr. Banaz furthered his studies at New York Manhattan Eye Hospital. Under the guidance of Dr. Albert Hornblass, he acquired skills in oculoplastic surgeries. At the time, the field was primarily dominated by plastic surgeons in Turkey.

Upon his return to Turkey, Dr. Banaz became associated with Okmeydanı Hospital in 1996, taking on the role of chief assistant. This position allowed him to play a significant part in the training and development of upcoming assistants.

In 2001, Dr. Banaz began his association with Dünya Eye Hospital, focusing solely on oculoplastic surgeries. His tenure here was marked not only by surgeries but also by undertaking administrative roles, particularly in standardization and training.

By 2017, Dr. Banaz established his own private practice, where he continues his professional journey.
