What is the recommended waiting period after getting a dental implant before attempting to conceive?
What is the recommended waiting period after getting a dental implant before attempting to conceive? Can conceiving too soon after the implant procedure lead to implant failure? My husband and I are currently planning to expand our family, and I had a dental implant procedure in November. Our preference is to delay getting the crown if that's possible. If I become pregnant, would they still proceed with placing the crown? I've heard that the crown is simply screwed on. Could you please advise me on how long I should wait after my dental implant to conceive? Are there risks of implant failure or complications for the fetus if I become pregnant too soon after the procedure? I'm in need of a clear timeline for guidance. Thank you for your assistance.

Is it typically the role of an oral surgeon to attach the abutment?
I'm exploring the option of dental implants to replace a couple of irreparably damaged teeth. I've learned that the dental implant process involves three components: the implant itself, the abutment, and the crown. It's clear that if I choose an oral surgeon for the procedure, they will handle the implant surgery, and my dentist will take care of the crown. However, I'm unsure about who typically manages the abutment: the surgeon or the dentist?

Is it possible to treat advanced peri-implantitis?
I've developed advanced peri-implantitis from an implant that was installed approximately five years ago. I've consulted with different professionals, but their recommendations have been conflicting. The oral surgeon suggests seeking treatment from a periodontist who can address it with bone and gum tissue grafting, while the periodontist recommends going back to the oral surgeon for removal. How can I determine the best course of action and find the right specialist for my situation?

Is it possible to address the discomfort and indentations on my dental implants with crowns?
I've recently had dental implants with crowns placed, but the crowns feel unusual and bulky. It seems like the tooth is occupying too much space. I've had one molar on the top and one on the bottom done, and both feel uncomfortable. Additionally, there are noticeable indentations or holes on them. Is it possible to remedy these issues?

Do I meet the requirements for dental implant surgery?
Hello, following my accident, I sustained a mandibular fracture and experienced tooth loss in the maxillary area. I've consulted with two doctors regarding my condition. The first, a maxillofacial surgeon, reviewed my CBCT X-rays and concluded that I am a suitable candidate for dental implants. However, the second doctor had a differing opinion. They stated that I may not be eligible for dental implants because my jaw may not accommodate the necessary 3mm size for each implant. Instead, they recommended an implant bridge and a bone graft in the affected area on the right side.

Is it advisable to undergo a second apicoectomy?
Is it advisable to undergo a second apicoectomy, or should I contemplate getting a dental implant after experiencing a tooth infection five years post the initial apicoectomy? Approximately five or six years ago, I underwent an apicoectomy procedure on the same tooth, which has now become infected once more. I'm faced with a dilemma: should I opt for another apicoectomy to salvage the tooth, or should I consider extraction followed by a dental implant? I'm only 28 years old, and I'm struggling to make a decision.

What contrasts in risk can be observed between the daily and few months implant placement protocols?
Could you provide insight into the contrasting risks between a daily implant placement protocol and one that spans over a few months? To my knowledge, if conditions like periodontitis and diabetes are absent, the risk of failure for an implant placement spanning a few months is approximately 10%. Should I anticipate a postponement if a gum transplant becomes necessary?
